The story of LargeNetwork began in April of 1999 with the launch of the Largeur project by Gabriel Sigrist and Pierre Grosjean.

The first French-language online magazine and a pioneer of independent Internet press, Largeur publishes daily news features, enterprise reports and columns. Dedicated to all aspects of the news, the magazine nonetheless has a special preference for new trends, original opinions and exclusive information. Largeur owes its reputation for excellence to the quality of its columnists, such as Nicolas Martin (Swiss politics) or Genevieve Grimm-Gobat (society). It also compiles a selection of the best French articles produced by the LargeNetwork journalists for various publications and clients.

The online magazine Largeur grew into a news agency of the same name, which became LargeNetwork in 2009.
